A veteran to the new media development field AKQA has worked with the likes of Nike, Xbox and ESPN over the past fifteen years. The Washington DC offices are highlighted by the industrial construction and open workspace.

Founded in 1995 under the name Digital Marketing Ltd, AKQA has fast grown to over 750 employees. While the headquarters are in San Fransisco, California there are six total offices spanning the globe from Amsterdam to Shanghai. One of the most successful projects excluding advertising campaigns was developing the original “blade” user interface for the Xbox 360 in 2007.

The Washington DC offices are in a renovated paper mill a few blocks from the Georgetown Waterfront Park. The interior is highlighted by tall windows that throw ample natural light as some hallways feature barn wood ceilings. There are two conference rooms, the main featuring a widescreen projector while both have Cisco Conference Connection devices. The “team room” offers a sanctuary for employees with a 50” plasma and naturally an Xbox 360.
