Big In Japan

Company Name

Big In Japan is a Dallas, Texas based mobile applications developer. Although they do not employ the 9ft Hulk that roams the office, they do have an open workspace for their highly collaborative employees.

Founded in June of 2008 by Rylan Barnes and Jason Hudgins, the Texas based developer produces mobile applications for the Apple iPhone and Google’s Android operating system. Their current flagship application is called ShopSavvy. Winner of the 2008 Android Developer Challenge ShopSavvy uses the auto focus camera and bar code scanning technology to retrieve data such as the price, both online and local, the ability to add an item to a wish list, read reviews or be alerted when the item is available at a certain price. The application is now available on both Android and iPhone.

Big In Japan’s offices are located in the Dallas, Texas INFOMART. The INFOMART is a seven story, 1.6 million square foot building that offers a wide range of rentable space to entrepreneurs such as Big In Japan. The size and flexibility of the INFOMART has given Big In Japan the ability to host a networks operation center, data center and officespace for developers.

Aside from the nine foot Hulk statue and office location the Big In Japan workspace features a very open work environment. No barriers between desks and a glass-walled confrence room give the office its open feel while couches and Rock Band are ready for employees leisure.
