Mahalo is a human powered search engine founded by Jason Calacanis, formerly of Weblogs Inc. Mahalo sets itself apart from other search engines with its human made result pages that carry several unique characteristics to the search world such as a short description of the search term, the top 7 chosen results, some of the latest twitter updates and a featured video all on one page.

These pages are created by Mahalo employees, if there is a search Mahalo cannot complete with a tailored page they use Google results to fill the void. Located in Santa Monica, California, Mahalo employees 40 people locally as full time staff, as well as remote workers through their Greenhouse program. Mahalo’s office features tons of large monitors, a pet friendly environment and an open floor plan, have a look!
