Twitter is a social networking company based on short updates by its users and producing the “pulse” of the internet.

Launched in 2006, Twitter made a splash at the South by South West (SXSW) conference in 2007 and has grown to become one of the dominant names in social media alongside Facebook and LinkedIn.

Their growth has astounded as the service has reported servicing close to 2 billion updates, or “tweets”, a month and set a record of 3,283 “tweets” per second during the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

Located in San Fransisco Twitter recently moved into a new workspace to accommodate their staggering growth. There are several small meeting rooms equipped with displays or white boards.

Lounge areas are bright and feature plenty of Twitter-centric art and similar to other Silicon Valley companies there is a kitchen and room devoted to games. Check out the photos of the new Twitter headquarters below.
